Snowberry Clearwing Moth
I took these pictures a few weeks ago, and I got so busy and backed-up that I almost forgot to post them. I love to get pictures of these little creatures. They are called Hummingbird Moths, but there official name is Snowberry Clearwing Moth. In case you are wondering, my shutter speed was 1/2500 sec.

So crisp and clear, I particularly love the coming in to land shot!

We’ve had some we call “hummingbird moths” but they’ve never been still long enough to be able to know if they are the same as yours or not. I’ve never had the good fortune for such a detailed photo as yours either! It’s such a neat moth with that furry fringe on the “tail section”. Very interesting!

I’ve heard of these and never seen one live. Amazing shots! That curly bit in the middle shot must be the tongue!?!

Great little series. I imagine all of this took place in a literal blink of an eye, yet 3 wonderfully diverse images came forth. Nice!
