Merry Christmas to all of my blogging friends! Hope that each of you have a wonderful holiday.
I was lucky enough to spend last week in New Orleans. We had a blast. Here are some pictures of the French Quarter.
They have started demolition of the original mill in the Russell Manufacturing complex in Alexander City, Alabama. The mill was founded in 1902 and was the lifeblood of this small town. It is closed now and moved out of the country leaving many people out of work. Anyway . . . many members of my family have passed through these doors on their way to work every morning.
I took these pictures a few weeks ago, and I got so busy and backed-up that I almost forgot to post them. I love to get pictures of these little creatures. They are called Hummingbird Moths, but there official name is Snowberry Clearwing Moth. In case you are wondering, my shutter speed was 1/2500 sec.
This past week, I visited in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chattanooga is a very beautiful town on the Tennessee River. There are several bridges across the river in the downtown area. The top picture is the Walnut Street Bridge that is now used for pedesterian traffic only. The picture below is a picture of the Market Street Bridge that is still used for car traffic.
